To say that was a 'cocaine-themed' party is quite the stretch. In that video there were four costumes that were featured and only two of them had to do with cocaine. Two! That's 50% which would be an F in every school in America. If only 50% of the attendees adhered to the theme then the Broncos must really suck at following directions. (For the record, I don't think the Broncos suck at following directions. I just think Vance Joseph sucks at giving them).
Plus the costumes were actually pretty good. Tryone Biggums? Hilarious! I do have to make one observation though. Would anyone think it would be strange for a wealthy professional athlete to do a little booger sugar while at a party? Probably not. So would it be bad judgement for a pro athlete to dress as someone who's famous for doing coke and then film yourself and put it on social media? I could see how some would think that. But I also think people take Halloween costumes too seriously and those costumes were hilarious and that party looked dope. PS - Maybe instead of working on your social game, someone should have kept a closer eye on Chad. Just saying. DP - Chad Kelly, the Denver Broncos backup quarterback, was arrested early Tuesday morning in Englewood on suspicion of first-degree criminal trespassing after he randomly entered a couple’s home and was beaten by the homeowner with a vacuum-cleaner tube, an arrest affidavit said
God dammit, Chad! It's a bad day to wake up as a member of #TeamSwag. I don't think anyone in Denver is confident in Kennum being the future of this team at QB and Swag Kelly was the one glimmer of hope we were holding on to. I've been #TeamSwag since training camp and now that all could be over and that sucks. Kelly has a very well documented history of getting himself into these situations. And now we can add 'beaten by a vacuum-cleaner tube while drunk in some random person's house' to the top of that list. Beaten by a vacuum-cleaner tube, jesus christ. If Kelly has a substance abuse problem, then I hope he gets the help he needs and I hope he gets it fast. However, if Kelly is just a dumb ass with horrible judgement and ends up never being the starting QB for the Denver Broncos, well then at least we'll always have this picture. Oh, and that kneel down at the end of the 1st half that one time. That was awesome. DP - Golden ultrarunner Courtney Dauwalter has made a habit of winning races, not just beating the women but all the men, too. She may be on the verge of another big win, a race in Tennessee that has no finish line.
At the Big’s Backyard Ultra in Bell Buckle, Tenn., competitors run around a roughly 4-mile loop over and over again. The race ends when all the runners but one have dropped out. The race started Oct. 20 and by 9:30 p.m. Monday, more than 70 runners had given up, leaving only three in the running. Dauwalter was in first place, ahead of two men. At last check, Dauwalter had run 266.7 miles in 52 hours, 10 minutes and 52 seconds. She held a lead of 11 minutes, 5 seconds over Johan Steene of Stockholm, Sweden. Gavin Woody of Bellevue, Wash. was in third, nearly an hour and a half behind her. Her last female competitor dropped out after 183.3 miles. Dauwalter, 33, has won 29 of 54 women’s races since 2011, topping the men’s winner in 10 of those races. On June 23, she was the first woman to cross the line at the prestigious Western States 100-Mile Endurance Run in northern California. Her time — 17 hours, 27 minutes — was the second-fastest for a female in that race’s history. I respect the hell out of this lady. Imagine running almost 300 miles just because you refuse to lose. That's a determination and competitive level that I just have to tip my cap to. There are certain times on these internet streets where you come across something and you immediately know that you could never do that. That's what happened to me when I read this story. Courtney is a tougher person than I'll ever be. I'm way to lazy of a person to even think about attempting what Courtney is doing. I could probably do it for a day sure, maybe even two. But by the third day you'll find me posted up at the local dive, 4 beers deep with a face full of wing sauce by 1pm at the latest.
Listen, Demaryius Thomas will go down as one of if not the best wide receiver in Denver Broncos history. If he's not 1 I'm making him 1A. He's a Super Bowl champion and he was an integral part of the greatest offense in NFL history. Every Bronco fan should want to keep him in Denver for the rest of career and for him to be introduced into the Ring of Fame.
But if we're going to be realistic, we need to take the prospect of trading DT seriously. Let's face it, this team isn't going to do anything special this year, they're just not. Not with Vance Joseph running things. DT's contract is still due about $5 million this year and just roughly $14 million next year(I think that's right? Don't fact check me please). The 2019 draft is loaded with WRs and the Broncos already have a promising young Courtland Sutton on the roster. Yes, getting a young stud WR for cheap in next year's draft doesn't fix our quarterback woes but it opens up money elsewhere. Money for the o-line and for the defense. Maybe the Broncos should entertain the idea of trading DT. It would help get a higher draft pick for next year and add a few more picks to our arsenal. We should accept this year for what it is, set VJ off to pasture and hopefully get a coach in here with some innovate ideas and some really young and cheap talent to work with. That being said, do we still trust Elway's drafting abilities? It seems as though a growing number of the fans are getting impatient with ol #7's work in the war room. I know I am. Just for fun. Thank the football gods for giving us back Jon Gruden. Every Broncos fan, and most NFL fans, knew that the Gruden signing in Oakland could blow up in their face. The guy has been out of coaching for what feels like forever. It's not a hot take to say the game has passed him by. He's forcing his team to watch black and white game films from like the 1950s or something for god's sake. And now he's meticulously dismantling what was once a very promising young and talented roster. And as a Bronco fan, it's truly a sight to behold. With the way the Broncos season is going, this is the next best thing if you're a person who cheers for the orange and blue. Sure the stockpile of draft picks the Raiders are accumulating with all these picks could set them up to be very, very good once they make the inevitable move to Vegas. But do you really trust these to guys to hit on all those picks? Because I sure as hell don't and if you're a Raiders fan, I don't think you're all that optimistic either. And what do you do if you're Reggie McKenzie here? If it were me, I'd have my resignation letter on Davis' desk by COB today. No way in hell would I ever let my name be attached to what's going down in Oakland right now. It's obvious Davis has given Gruden the keys to the car and every logical thinking employee of the Raiders needs to get out while they still can.
Thank god for Mark Davis and Jon Gruden. I want, no I need, this Vegas experiment to blow up in their face more than I need my hipster style IPA If the Broncos are going to suck, then it's at least a little bit better knowing that Oakland is imploding on themselves. |
